Is this an official Cambridge International course?

No. This is an EducoTrain course designed specifically for teachers new to the Cambridge IGCSE system. Cambridge International offers its own official professional development courses ; this program is an alternative designed for the Indian context and pace of learning.

Is the certificate from Cambridge International or EducoTrain?

The certificate is from EducoTrain, not Cambridge International. It certifies completion of this EducoTrain program — not that you are a certified Cambridge trainer.

If you need an official Cambridge certificate, Cambridge International offers its own Introduction Courses: https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/support-and-training-for-schools/professional-development/syllabus-specific-courses/introduction-courses/online-introduction-courses/

How much of this course is specifically Cambridge IGCSE methodology?

~70% of the core modules focus directly on Cambridge IGCSE: curriculum structure, syllabus mapping, assessment methodology, marking bands, and common student misconceptions in Cambridge exams. ~30% covers general teacher-development skills (pedagogy, classroom management, feedback) that apply to any curriculum but are contextualised to Cambridge contexts.

Is this mainly general teacher development, or specifically Cambridge IGCSE?

This is specifically Cambridge IGCSE. Every module is tied to Cambridge's syllabus, assessment format and exam strategy. We're not teaching you to be a better teacher in general — we're teaching you how the Cambridge IGCSE system works and how to teach within it.

Will I get access to recorded sessions?

Yes. All live sessions are recorded and made available to enrolled learners immediately after the session ends. You have access to all recordings for 1 Year

For how long can I access the recordings?

12 Months. Once you're enrolled, you can access all recordings for as long as your EducoTrain account is active for the next 12 months

Will there be assessments or quizzes?

Yes. There will be 2-3 short assessments (quizzes, case studies or lesson-planning exercises) during the course. These are not high-stakes exams — they're designed to help you consolidate what you've learned. They do not affect your certificate; completion of the course is what matters.

Do I have to pass the assessments to get the certificate?

Yes. The certificate is awarded on completion and assessment of the course. Assessments are formative (learning-focused), not summative. Your goal is to engage with the material, and pass the test.

Who teaches this course? Is it a Cambridge-trained instructor?

The course is taught by Mr. Jayapal Reddy, who specialise in Cambridge curriculum and have extensive experience working with Cambridge schools in India. We teach Cambridge methodology and assessment to working teachers across India.

How does this course help me if I want to move to a Cambridge IGCSE school?

This course teaches you Cambridge IGCSE syllabus structure, assessment methodology and exam strategy — exactly what you'll need as a Cambridge teacher. After completion, you'll understand Cambridge curricula and can confidently teach within that system. This is a strong foundation for a school interview or a transition to Cambridge-curriculum schools.

Is there a difference between this course and Cambridge's official training?

Yes. Cambridge's official training is delivered by Cambridge-certified trainers and leads to a Cambridge-issued certificate. This course is EducoTrain's interpretation of Cambridge IGCSE for Indian teachers, delivered over 2 weeks in evening sessions. Cambridge's official courses are typically longer and more formal. Both are valid; this one is designed for in-service Indian teachers with limited time.
